I'm looking for some help in finding material to build some more cages. What I'm looking for is metal, about 600-1000mm wide, to put at the bottom of my cages. I presume it comes in a roll.

The metal I have seen used for this is similar to the metal that used to be used for the walls of above ground pools - a bit like a dull galvanised iron with a very fine corrugation or crinkle.

Its function is partly to stop foxes digging in (by being below ground level) and partly to stop agression between birds in adjacent cages. Unfortunately, I don't know what its called, so I can't find any suppliers or (better still) second hand material.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pavo, have you tried a Salvage Yard or an above ground pool manufacturer? You could also try a Pool shop if they don't have it they may know where you can buy it.

Thanks

yes that metal is good and hard to find.

I just pickup 72 7foot long sheets of coragated iron for $60, it will be great for wind breaks and roofing for nest boxes.

That was strap metal price, was suppose to be only a 1/4 of a ton, but my trailer said it was more like a 1/2 - 3/4 of a ton.

Mini Orb perhaps? :) Also used as one word and I have seen it hyphenated.

Thanks Cackles - Mini Orb is what I was after and Google found it straight away. Now I know what it's called, I just need to find it at the right price!
