We have a walnut tree and the peahen loves them , the peacock not so much.

2 to 3 every couple of days. Theres not many left on the ground now. The Peahen has taken to following me around hoping for a feed. Shes actually getting tame enough to almost eat out of my hand. Shes also becoming a nuisance in that respect. She saw me checking out the cherry tree so she came up and pecked off all the small cherries that were forming. :(

They do become very tame and will act like a dog. I have 3 that come on the tractor with me and yes while its moving :shock:

Ours are reasonably tame which is just as well as they both got out of the pen within a couple of weeks of arriving and stayed.They tolerate people getting reasonably close and they don't care about the dogs though the Peahen will give the younger one a bit of a move along if she doesn't get out of the way quick enough. The worry at the moment is that the crops around us have got big enough to provide perfect cover for the foxes which have take a few chooks in the last couple of weeks . These were roosting up on a window sill of the house. The Peafowl are safe enough at night up the trees but its where they go first thing in the morning and in the evening which is a concern.

Morning and dust are the 2 times favored by foxes the ^%$$$%##@**&&*(((* so keep the grass LOW so they can't sneak up the ((*&&^%$$##@!#$$$$
