Hi there guys I have peas for the first time and my knowledge is very limited at the mo so I have my first questions

Should my peafemales be laying some eggs by now?

Should I have just the older peafemale and the peaboy together and the peateen on her own because she's very young

Thanks
T

Depends on where you are? Some have started to lay but they are the older hens with experience

I take it the peateen is around 12 months? she need to gain experience so no leave her with the other 2

Jenn if your peahens are too young maybe you can send a PM to TP and if your close enough go and pick up a breeding peahen she has or had? a couple for sale. TP is the biggest female peafowl breeder in Victoria and has the best pieds you will see in vic all for the original PA line so you cannot go wrong with her stock and she knows what she's talking about. I wish there was another female breeder of quality in victoria but I guess peafowl is mans world for the most part but I like to mix it with you blokes [smilie=a_chuckle.gif] I will send you a PM Jenn as I have cut back on how many eggs I will set this year to 70 all are the Indian blue mutation pied and reverse pieds and a few whites. I get hundreds of enquires from all over australia looking for PA's original reverse pieds but finding the time to get to the airport every second day is hard. I hope next year I will have more fee time so I can set more and can send more out.
