Looking for some advice on the nesting of my golden pheasants.

My hen has been on 4 eggs for about 14 days so far in the cage with her mate and a pair of ringneck parrots now my question is should I leave her on the nest or take her out with the eggs and put her in a small cage. I ask because I wonder if the chicks will be ok with the parrots and with their dad?

First timer so need some help on this please

Its always good to ask questions its the best way to learn.

Golden pheasants [inc dark throat] are good parents both the male and female will take care of the chicks much like chickens. The chicks are very lively when born so they can keep up with the parents but both the male and female will keep an eye on the chicks at all times. I much prefer parent raised goldens they turn out better breeders when they mature. Make sure your water bowel in very shallow as chicks can drown and any small holes need to be fixed as the chicks are very small when they first hatch.

I currently have 5 chicks with their parents in 1 cage and 7 chicks with another pair in another cage and they are great to watch the fathers are so gentle with the chicks. I bred 19 last year all raised by their parents

Yes they are good parents but if you read some wantabie forums you may see a clown saying that cockbirds kill the chicks which is crap these idiots should take up a new hobby and leave breeding birds to the grown ups
