ONLY feed turkey starter crumble to them and you can give them some greens and HB eggs but the main diet MUST be turkey starter crumble, no question about it.

What about meal worms and earwigs ? They're loving them at the moment and hasn't seemed to have done them any harm so far. They are getting the crumble and hard boiled eggs as well.

2 weeks old and they are already roosting with mum on top of the fluorescent light fitting in the shed . Good little flyers at such a young age.

meal worms are great for all chicks I use them for the silver pheasants and napals and the chicks are stronger and the losses are almost at zero. I breed my own worms these days and they are easy as

Yeah we breed our own meal worms for chicks and ducklings. Just didn't know if it was ok for peachicks. Nearly 4 weeks old and still all ok. Now trying to sex them. If I try to use the head feathers method it seems I have 5 males. Whats the chances ? . And is it normal for them to start "displaying" at such a young age.

How many do you give them, also how often? My concern is they become reliant on them?

We give ours about 40 all up in the morning between the 6 . They then spend the rest of the day scratching around for other insects and spiders as well going to the food bowl . Mum is pretty good at showing them what to do. Pity she has decided to roost so high up a tree . As you can tell they are now free ranging , It simply got too hot to keep them in the shed and once they had tasted some freedom mum refused to go back in without some strong encouragement. They are still all here and healthy so leave well enough alone , just make sure they do get settled properly at night.
