No not direct they are from the pure lines of Peacocks Australia the only pure line left in australia and originated from a zoo that did import them

Its good we have preserved the green peafowl I was reading a chook forum in the US that they are all cross bred to blue and no pure ones left silly yanks why would they do that? at least we can show them how its done, again.

Who knows? I saw similar on the yank chicken one the guy from thailand was posting about pures which he has and a couple of yanks, okpeagirl and bemba or bimbo I think they go by were questioning. Makes me laugh when a yank comments on our fowls also they have no idea, not a clue.

When DNA fingerprinting becomes more widespread and affordable we will be better able to separate the pure birds from the "almost pure".

Theres mapping going on now in germany and asia not sure we will ever be involved with our small population but we do have some very good greens here with PA and Colin, 1 zoo and a couple of others on the forum but none outside that list.
