Just wondering if anyone is able to help me with the approx. age of my peacocks, I have been told they are approx. 10 months old Indian Blues.
But looking at posted pics I feel they may be older ????
I have also just bought an Indian Blue peahen of approx. 2.5yrs old. Will I be able to separate one of my males to the female pen for mating or is she to old for my peacocks ????
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards Shorty

They would be 8-10 months yes, note how they have little black on the underbelly so they are young fellas. Were they raised together? if so then for now put the hen in with both boys and see how they all get on but watch them in the breeding season and not this one as they are to young but next. In the mean time see if you can get another hen if you have room

Thank you so much,
Yes they are brothers and have been raised together, I am looking for a peahen so that I can separate them into pairs.
Do you think they will be old enough to breed next season ????
Breeding season in QLD is Oct-Nov & Mar-April ???
Although I can see more green than blue, these are Indian Blue ???

Kind Regards

They MAY breed in late 2014 or early 2015 but work on 2015. Yes they are 100% IB's, hybrids are very different. Thats a good idea to get another hen and split them but you have time so take you time getting the right peahen IE 2-3 years old is idea for your fellas
