I know right! even if they only had 1/10th -1/100th the amherst blood they would still look like amhersts so its impossible for darks to have any amherst blood as its so dam obvious and such a stupid idea to even think it but there are wackos in the world

There sure are MP but I think they standout as they also copy others and pinch info from the internet and people see that. Its interesting the amherst are the dominant over the golden as you say even with such a small about of amherst blood in a golden they still look like a amherst so easy to tell

I think the confusion probably occurs more with the hens rather than the cocks.
Inexperienced backyarders don't know the birds well enough and can be duped into buying hybrids by unscrupulous breeders.
I don't know why people bother to breed hybrids. They're not doing the birds or themselves any favours.

Your right Parvo the cross breeding with amhersts and golden in the hens is the bigger issue as the cock birds are very easy to identify as they are phenotype amhersts but the hens can look either way

It doesn't help when some place have are full of bad info and not even close to fact. The upside is very few read it so not much harm is done

Any real serious breeder reads APF so they get the facts and then know who are the fakes and the bad sites not to view [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

I agree no genuine decent pheasant or peafowl breeder reads the chook sites they stick with a poultry site and we only have the 1 poultry site in australia and its a ripper
