Hello;

Can someone have a look at this image of one of my chicken's poo. It has yellow globules of something in it and I'm wondering if this is cause for alarm.

Thank you, Chicken Girl

Do the 'goobies' move at all? Might be time to worm.

Thank you for your helpful comments.

The chickens have not been wormed, however, appear to be in good health.

I will worm them straight away!

Can you recommend a worming treatment ?

Cheers, Chicken Girl

is this how it came out of your chicken?
or has something laid eggs on the poo after it came out of the chicken.
i would still be worming them just in case, but also ensuring clean fly and bug free housing
with cooler weather (supposedly) approaching hopefully fly populations will drop

there are a lot of wormers available.
you should go to the produce store in your area, as they will have the most popular wormer for thier area.
we use cydectin, you may find something that will suit your chickens, climate/area and budget better than what we use.
you will also have to get a seperate wormer for coccidiosis. there are products like amprolium (chemical wormer) or many herbal wormers.
we will be waiting to hear what you decide to get and how well it works for you.
good luck.
dont forget to look in all the old posts in this forum, you will get many ideas from them

I cannot say with certainty how fresh the poo was as I collect it every afternoon when I come home from work - at least 5 hours old!

There are some flies about as it's been warm lately - especially in their house.

I will worm the flock (5 chickens) and keep an eye on them. Many Thanks, Chicken Girl

Those look like tapeworm segments = make sure you get a tapeworm specific wormer as well as a regular allround wormer

the yellowish ones are dying or already dead the whiter ones are still very much alive = if another chook ingests them that bird will be infested as well

FYI = excellent picture = everyone could take a page out of your photo skills as this is the sort of picture that is needed to help identify such beasties
