well i have run out of medicine. oops ! maybe i should have ordered a bigger bottle...but i didnt know how much i would have needed....

just hope it was enough to fix the problem.... or do you think i should get some more and just keep going until i am 100% it is all gone ?!?!?

i ran out on tuesday afternoon. that was their last dose.... 2 of the chicks are still sniffing... well it is most like a tiny sneeze thing that sounds slightly wet and watery. but only sometimes..... but there is no other signs that i can see from them running around my feet. i'll have to pick them all up individually tomorrow and check them over just incase.

They ALL look FANTASTIC now.... and have such HUGE appetites compared to before. i cant believe how much they eat now.... they LOVE their food !!! and they are soooooo full of energy and are in to EVERYTHING ! always RIGHT under my feet... i am soooooo afraid i am going to step on one of them.... they fly and run and fly and run like speedy little race cars around the yard. they run and when they want to go faster they flap their wings and zoom flying and running at the same time... hahahahaha. so funny. and again they are always under my feet if i walk somewhere. they are there too !!!

i'm wondering because of the little sniffles if i should order more antibiotics and start again or just leave it and see ???

Glad that your babies' general health, appetite and disposition have improved so much. Given the poor start that they have had, maybe continue with the antibiotics??? Problem maybe everything may be closed for a few days so you may well just have to wait and see, hoping that the weather will be dry in Newcastle over the Easter weekend. Wet weather, sniffles and recovering sick chicks...

You are deserving of a good break!!!

So satisfying to see the recovery of birds when it all looks lost and we do get attached to them don't we

well i need to order again , because seen some bubbly noses and itchy eyes still... nothing like what they had before but if not trated will end in in the same situation as before........ i'll have to order a bigger bottle and keep going with the treatment..... should have got he big bottle at the beginning but i had no idea what i needed....

so i am wondering is this bottle the same as the one i was using but just bigger and more stuff in it ???
http://planetpoultry.com.au/antibiotics ... ultry.html

and this is what i used before which had great results but wasn't enough in the bottle to completely heal all signs from all chicks
http://planetpoultry.com.au/healthcare/ ... iotic.html

is it the same thing ???? or should i just order a few of the same bottle i had already ??? HELP. clueless !!! the descriptions say different but same things... and the labels both say oxymav but one says B and the other says 100.

Hi BFLF wave.gif

I think the difference is that the Oxymav 100 is just that you are getting it in a 100 gram bottle & the B is in a 1kg bottle. I have a 1kg bottle because I want to have it on hand at all times for when little sneezes or nose dribbles come on. That way I can nip any nasties in the bud before they go too far.

My avian vet advised me that if birds are showing real signs of being sick (e.g.:just sitting on the ground & not moving or their head rolling back etc..) then they are really sick & there may not be a lot we can do for them when they have reached that stage. th_Noooo.gif

Grandma always use to say " an ounce of prevention if worth a pound of cure".

Get the big bottle!
