One of my mum's dog's was poisoned by the neighbour's with Ratsak; I don'r think she really got over it as we aren't allowed to have a dog :(

We use baits around the stables in special drums so its away from all other animals and yes our cat do eat the dieing mice that are affected by the baits and we have never had a sick or lost a cat from them eating them I think most baits are too weak to have secondary poisoning affect

The bigger ones work for rats okay according to a friend who uses them. The one you've shown has a hole at the top that they have to climb into, but others have the end door snap shut once a rat or mouse is inside. The problem is that then you have a live mouse or rat to kill. I know some people catch mice and rats and let them free down the road a bit which just moves the problem to someone else's place. That's a terrible idea. Then the neighbour has to deal with it too. th_Noooo.gif

I've read that some people even feed their chookies the mice they have caught [smilie=rlp_smilie_207.gif] GROSS [smilie=rlp_smilie_207.gif]

I have used the baits here from time to time when we had small outbreaks of mice and many birds have eaten the dieing or dead mice with not affects so not sure how strong these baits are these days I am guess the are not as they used to be

Welsummer Bantams are you using the supermarket brands of baits like ratsak or more commercial brand available under licence?

[smilie=welcome.gif] ozzyman16, what's the difference between the two baits?

I use traps like the one shown and am catching 3-5 mice a night. Use peanut butter on a piece of bread for bait as they cannot resist the smell. I then drop the trap into a bucket of water and then tip out the contents of the trap. Quick and easy.
