Too many to list,

depends on age, feed, free ranging, access to other feed ie green feed, gorging on feed, infection, cocci, being broody, dirty pen etc

give us some more info and we might be able to help.

If they're otherwise healthy and eating well and their appearance is normal, I'd throw my hat into the ring for a worm burden. Wormout tablets, one tablet per 2Kg with a repeat dose about 15 days later. The repeat dose is very important...

That should be 1 tablets per 2Kg. I couldn't find out how to edit my post.

Heavens can't imagine wiping a chooks bum. I find way too much lettuce give them very green runny poo
