The stress of moving can bring on all sorts of health problems that is why it is always best to quarantine and isolate new birds in your flock.

Keep a close eye it may need a course of antibiotics.

gluck.gif Beccy,

It's probably the stress from moving, best to keep them separate from your flock.

Beccy,

If you're going to use antibiotics make sure you use them properly ie at the correct dose for the correct amount of time.

It is an absolute no-no to use antibiotics at less than full strength and for short periods of time. All you end up doing is incompletely eliminating the bug and potentially creating superbugs which are resistant to the antibiotics.

PP's comments on quarantine are great advice.

So true we tend to cut short the treatment period because they look fine after 2 or 3 days but they are not

the vets gave me the guidlines on the amounts to use with the antibiotics, it has to be pre mixed and i find it works better then the proper chicken one.
