A trooper...she raised so many babies....i gave her to a friend when I had to leave my last home and he kept me up to date and I visited her later in her life, she looked like a young girl....her name was Fanny...

Oh Anna...when my girls first got them I felt like a leper, but it is just part of the process...i just grabbed them each night from their roost when they were sleepy and doused their little feet in Pest oil for three days...then vege/coconut oil for three more days but remember to wash roosts with hot soapy water, dry and rub pest oil in to roosts well at least every week till the mites look like they have gone..i do the roosts each time i clean out pen cos only takes two minutes. Do spread garden lime on their ground tht they scratch around.....if your Pekin doesnt roost then thats ok...change bedding regularly and always sprinkle with Pestene powder, under the hay or straw. it may not ever come back if you do the lime (not builders lime) on soil every couple months. Xxxx

Ps. I use pestene powder on the whole hen every couple months too.

If you treat them 2 or 3 times and not just 1 time they will all die

I think the key is to do daily till they all die...my first outbreak scared me silly so i rubbed their feet for two weeks, possibly over kill..this last time one week did the trick...tgey seem to appreciate it xx
