Withholding period for collecting eggs

Is there any withholding period for collecting eggs to set after worming, does it affect the fertility?

Hi Eggbuddy and welcome to the forum.

The answer depends a little on which wormer you use, how long you use it for and how often you use it.

It is pretty unlikely that any of the wormers will have any significant effect on fertility so I would set them regardless of worming.

However, as a general rule, I try to worm the birds before and then after the heaviest laying periods to get them into prime condition for laying and later moulting and to minimise any side effects.

Thats great thank you I was hoing I could use the eggs and not have to throw them away

Don't throw away the eggs, boil, peel and mash them and feed them back to the chooks for a protein boost. I have also left the shells to dry and crushed them and given them back to the girls for the calcium content. Then nothing is wasted :-D

Throwing away eggs is sacrilege :-D

especially when they can be boiled up & fed back to the girls for extra protein [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]
