Hi,
I have a muscovey drake around 3yrs old. He has trouble getting around and it looks like arthritis.
The main problem is this.:
Because he can't get about like the others, his toenails are too long.
I tried to cut them with a men's pair of toenail clippers.
Would hardly look at them. The nail is too strong.
I would dearly love to make walking easier for Sonny-Jim as he is gentle soul.
He sits around a lot so I have not noticed the bad state of his nails until yesterday.
What can I get to shorten his nails.
Many thanks in advance.

Can you use a small grinder like they do on cutting spurs?

I could, and would, but where do I get one.
I managed to get a bit off the tip and it has helped. But a bit more needs to come off.
I wonder if I could get one from the pet shop or maybe a feed store.

Allot of hardware stores hire small tools maybe you can ask if yours hires a small grinder. I agree with andrew its your best option if you can get one
