Oh Sassy.....I'm so sorry to hear that mate My Becky is not doing so well either. Today she was bleeding from her bot bot, so I don't think antibiotics are helping. Prognosis:Grimm The saddest thing about birds is that they don't show they are sick until they are almost on deaths door & then by the time we understand something is happening it almost too late. Hugs xo Chicka-Dee |

Are the new girls younger than Ariana? She deserves to feel like the queen, since she's lost her friend. Introducing two will be good Bec Bec (that's what I call her) is hanging in there but still bleeding from her bot bot , I feel useless because there is nothing I can do & our local vets have offered to euthanise her but I'm holding hope as she was moving around a lot more yesterday. PoultryDan wrote: I also hope Becky pulls through Chicka-Dee, symptoms don't sound good at all No they're not Dan, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her, but like you said, the symptoms aren't good.I'm on the border of getting her euthanised as I don't want to put her through unnecessary pain, but I can't help but be hopeful. I will give you another update this arv. |

Well Becky ate some grapes today and looks like she's getting an appetite back. A but if pecking and scratching going on. This could be a turning point. But her bot bot is still bleeding, so I could be overly optimistic. Any new girls yet Sassy? |

Evening! Becky sounds a bit brighter. Fingers crossed for her. Still no news on the new girls. They are 6mths old so younger but I think Ari is a bantam so she will be a shorty but hopefully feisty enough to be queen! Will introduce them strategically!! I want her to be boss |

Howdy Well my beloved Bec Bec went to chooky heaven on the weekend We ended up having to euthanise her because she was just not getting any better. It was the most humane thing to do unfortunately. She was a star layer that laid a total of 632 eggs in her 2.5 years of egg laying life. Thanks Bec Bec, you were a good girl and an original flock member. Chicka-Dee xx |

She was 'only' a little Isa Brown, but those little Isa Brown have an abundance of personality. I keep a diary of all the eggs my girls lay.I love that you knew her number of eggs!! She was a good hen! Leah I'm so detail oriented (aka Anal ) that I even know which egg is laid by each chicken by the creases & marking that is created on the eggs by each chicken. My husband thinks I'm obsessed , I think he might be right lol. How's the new girls going with Ari? Cheers Chicka-Dee |
