Hello;

I wish to know the possible cause for the black marks that have developed on the combs of three chicken I have.

The marks have appeared on three birds in the last 3 months or so.

I am thinking that as this area is very vascular, the blotching is caused by the occlusion of blood vessels.

Does anyone know ?

Do others have chickens exhibiting similar blotching on the combs ?

Thank You Chicken Girl

Mosquito bites - really.... That is better than what I thought - chicken pox or similar.

It has been warm and the bugs are about! I'll do as you suggest.

I hope that the problem is not an issue and the combs will return to their original colour. Thanks, CG
