You can either put it in a mash...about a clove per chook or just put a few cloves in their water and leave it there for the 5 days prior to the full moon. Make sure there is no alternative water source for them....I sometimes put it in all their water containers. It is also great for chickens that look a little poorly...at any time, I include a little cod liver oil in their food as well.
