I have a pair of budgies in a (1m x .5m x .5m) cage inside and the girl layed 2 eggs over the Easter break. She layed another 2 and has been sitting on them ever since. Occasionally she comes out for a poop and a feed which is ok, but sometimes she fights with the boy. Once there fight was quite serious and I could not seperate them.
Should I take the boy out and put him in another cage?
Will he hurt the babies if they hatch?
How long does it take budgies to hatch?

Is he feeding the hen? does he spend any time at the nest box hole? does he go in the nest box? it's not uncommon for a Hen budgie to show aggression to the cockbird when nesting it just depends on the level of aggression and how frequest?

18 days

Thanks
P.A :-D

Thank you for the help P.A
I haven't seen him feeding her at all.
It turned out that none of the eggs were fertile anyway :(
Maybe next time
