I wouldn't worry Raf. There are plenty of good quality macaws being bred in good numbers throughout Australia if you are interested in them. The problem with them and most large parrots is that most people don't have the time that these birds need to keep them happy. End result: a screaming feather plucking mess!

Unfortunately Seegulls this is just another old wife's tail. All the oil does is ruin the feather structure and make the bird more susceptible to cold. If it was that simple there would be greasy but fully feathered birds everywhere !! :lol:

It used to be cod liver oil I think but yes did not work

Its a shame that all the parrots in aviaries in australia are so inbred and full of health issues
