did you crack open the unsuccessful eggs to see what had happened?

did you spray the duck eggs with water?....I have been told this helps alot....

Thats why I wrote duck eggs are more wet incubated than chook eggs and a light spray helps allot in the final days

incubator was set to 65 percent humidity for the last few days. The chicks were fully formed in the other eggs but just didn't, couldn't pip

Then I would say its thier diet you need to increase the breeders vitamin and minerals before they start to lay so the chicks are stronger. Poor diet or poor conditioned breeding stock is probalby the issue here, sorry.

Eggs in an incubator can sometimes have fully formed chicks inside which do not hatch out. Possible reasons for this may include;
•Improper storage of eggs whereby the eggs become too cold.
•Eggs not turned correctly.
•Temperature incorrect – too low or too high.
•Humidity incorrect – too low throughout incubation.
•Improper ventilation.
•Infection or disease.
•Poor diet or poorly conditioned breeding stock.

Hi and thanks everyone for your advice. Now I have a new problem! I had 10 eggs in my incubator and they are at day 23 (9/10 still alive). I also had a couple of eggs under my silkie and when she decided to just get up and leave them I popped them in the incubator thinking that they probably wouldn't work but guessing they would have about the same hatching time if they did. Well, these two have pipped and I still have 2 more days before I stop the others from turning. I don't really have anywhere to put them! I was going to pop them under the heat lamp but then they wouldn't have any humidity. Does anyone know of a way I can do this? Can I put them on a wet towel under the heat lamp? I have had so much bad luck in the last days of incubation (as per my first post) and I really don't want any more.

Leave the egg in the incubator and let them hatch then take them out after 24 hours they won't hurt the other eggs or affect the other eggs from hatching even if they are a few days after the other 2 and keep the turner going if its not time to turn it off that also won't hurt the first chicks hatching. I have had a full load of eggs hatch in the incubator with the turner still going as I forgot to turn it off

Thanks. I actually had another batch in at day 8 in a different incubator that happens to have one 'still' area in the middle. So I popped the two pipped eggs in there overnight and then stopped the first batch turning this morning (day 24 instead of 25) and put the two eggs back in there. I went to work and came home to two beautiful new Khaki Campbells and watched a third one hatch about an hour ago. They all look great. I think the only problem with the R-Com King Suro 20 is that it doesn't have a lot of room for the ducklings to stand up in and get used to walking (with the sponge in the middle and fan area). I'll pop them in the brooder tomorrow morning and hopefully watch the others hatch in the next few days!
