Hi, Gee I hear you guys talking about so many of the eggs hatch. I must be very lucky to date or my roosters are very fertile. All eggs that my hens have sat on to date (about 6 hatchings) have hatched. One was not able to walk properly so had to be put to sleep and a corw got another one, other than that they have all hatched and lived so far. I must be spoilt :-D

well it depends what you are breeding too, my chosen breed carries a lethal gene so that even with 100% fertility only 75% will hatch, the others grow but are dead in shell---so I am happy with anything over 60% , cheers pam

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know i candled my pekin eggs (the ones that i was concerned about) just now (day 7), it was very exciting th_clap.gif , i have a deffinate 6 eggs that have living peeps in them, this is my first time candling and was very amazing to see them moving and the viens wiggling around, there maybe a possible 2 more, but harder to tell as they are a little more soiled than the others..

We' ve only hatched one egg upto now so you will all have to excuse my excitment.. a_bravo.gif
