Hi
This is my first time incubating eggs. I have them in the incubator and the instruction i got with the incubator does not tell me much??
I added water and the humidity reached 75% the eggs were in this heat for about 24 hrs
I then tipped water out and now the humidity is 60
The temp is 35 c
Have i killed the eggs with the high humidity already or is there a chance
Thanks for any replies

What sort of incubator is it . You need to get your temp up to 37.5 the Humidity just start to cover the water and reduce the surface area and you will get it down to around 53 to 55 % .You are in the early stages of incubation so I would keep going with them .You will see them moving at candling at 14 to 16 days if thay are alive.

Ok to increase humidity most incubators have water chambers or water containers. If your incubator has chambers you only need to fill more of the chambers to increase humidity. if your incubator has water containers you need to add more containers of water to increase the surface area. Or remove the covers on top of your water containers to give you more surface area exposed to increase humidity. Just remember humidity relates to surface areas of water, the more water exposed in the incubator, the more humidity.

What do you use the cover the chambers of water, would flat plastic be ok or could it be toxic?

I always have trouble with the humidity too seems to go up and down all the time not sure if I need a small fan to help keep it more stable?
