I have my first lot of eggs in the new incubator and its now day 27 and none have hatch I checked them at 7 days and saw lots of blood veins so I believe they were good and they look very dark now but no sign of hatching. How long after the due day should I wait before I break some open and see what happened?

Sorry to say rocketman, but if they are at 27 days for chicken eggs then you've missed out this time. It takes between 19 and 23 days for chicken eggs to hatch, a day or two less for bantams I think. I'm not good with incubators, never used one myself, but from my reading the typical things that go wrong are temperature and humidity fluctuations and infrequent turning. Hopefully some of the more experienced members will weigh in to help you.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, I notice this is your first post.

I am afraid I have to agree they are not going to hatch now unfortunately :( but I would open some up and see if there are chicks formed or not?

Sorry

Not one had a chick inside so what went wrong? I checked them at 7 days and saw the blood vestals so why did they not grow into chicks do you think?

Tell me more about spider veins and solid red lines, melroe. What do these indicate?
