For the $80 did you get a guarantee of hatching % or money back? I would like some buff but at that price would like some guarantee

I think it would be very difficult to give a gurantee of eggs hatching...

the breeder may be able to give an indication of fertility...but after the eggs have left the breeder's possesssion...who then takes responsibility?

The breeder does not know how well the The Post will handle the eggs, nor know how long the eggs have sat in a hot mail box...nor whether the buyer is using a reliable incubator....I could go on and on.

I have just tried incubating a dozen eggs posted from interstate...didn';t get one hatch (although on cracking the eggs, some had partly developed...others had not)...the breeder tells me he had other people get a 70% hatch rate...I don't feel that I could ask for a guarantee....And yet, I have had other good experiences.....

Yes your right you cannot guarantee any eggs will hatch or that they are fertile you would need a crystal ball for that. Its the luck of the draw

something you would have to negotiate with the seller....

there have been many stories about unscrupulous folk who have tried to claim that eggs are infertile and demanding replacements......all a bit hard to prove really.....I think it is something you would negotiate with each seller

It works both ways, there are some breeders out there without scruples and morals that can also who can also prey upon the n00bie who places their utmost trust in a breeder, whether it be fertile eggs or their advertised stock. They see the greenness and enthusiasm written all over our unsuspecting faces and they knowingly pass off stock that is destined to be culled or dud eggs because they know we are still wet behind the ears :(
