THE RISK OF BUYING EGGS......
I have purchased eggs from all over Australia mostly with good success, If I've had a bad hatch most breeders have sent another lot for cost of postage ......

BUT.........

I heard a story just the other day that scared me a little and I thought I would share it with you guys......

A lady had been receiving complaints about the eggs she was posting out...
ie. no hatchings or rotten eggs.....
She could not understand what was going on, why people could not get her eggs to hatch...
She was sure people were trying to rip her off when they repeatedly asked her to replace eggs or for there money back...
She says she checks all her eggs for fertility before any are sent, and is 100% percent sure all her eggs have chickens in them

............................HOW YOU ASK........................

She incubates them for ten days and only sends out the eggs with chickens in them......

............UNBELEIVEABLE......... but sadly true................

Well this one needed to be posted again as yep there are some really ‘silly’ people out there [I cant call this sort breeders! ]
 th_Noooo.gif :-? [smilie=a_doh.gif]

Well so far I have 10 POSTED eggs in the incubator and all are developing nicely a_bravo.gif [smilie=a_withstupid.gif] ...due to start pipping next friday 29/10...hopefully nothing will go wrong between now and then but I can say for fertility and LONG TRAVELLED eggs I am really REALLY pleased. I was expecting 30% at best but this...wow. All these eggs cost was 10 of my own eggs sent in return

I just weigh up cost of a trio if I bought locally and if I can't source them from around here buy the eggs and hope for 3 chicks..then I am happy, yeh I know it doesn't take much to keep this little chooky happy

Hi Gary,
This is it, no one would in there right mind that knows anything about breeding send incubated eggs through the mail. The people that have wanted me to incubate to day 18 are either just dumb or have no knowledge of breeding, hence do not know that the chickens will die in the eggs once taken away from the heat. I HAVE BEEN ABUSED SEVERAL TIMES by people who want eggs and have asked me to incubate them because I WILL NOT incubate and post.I know of one lady in Sydney who was putting eggs in her incubator for 2 weeks then posting them out to people. [smilie=a_doh.gif] She could not understand why nothing was hatching for people who got eggs from her as she was hatching chickens from the eggs. [smilie=a_doh.gif] .This lady is still selling cheap eggs but has had to replace many still to no avail. I know of her because I bought eggs from her and after the first 2 dozen arrived we worked it out, as I candle all eggs that come through the mail. [smilie=a_whyme.gif] I contacted her and she told me they were ready to go in the incubator and gave me the hatch date. [smilie=a_doh.gif] [smilie=rlp_smilie_003.gif] [smilie=rlp_smilie_003.gif] I said your kidding and explained to her what she was doing.I was called stupid and told I had no idea what I was talking about. [smilie=nonono.gif] [smilie=nonono.gif] [smilie=a_holycrap.gif] What could I say? th_Noooo.gif

So I have been reading through and it had been mentioned about not posting during summer but I wondering how I would go with guinea fowls eggs as they only lay eggs in summer? What are my chances of getting them to hatch?
