Hi I was wondering if the clear top incubators are as good as the white foam incubators for hatching more eggs that are set. I wonder do the all clear lids loose lots of heat over night?

There are lots of different makes and models of incubators. Some are better than others regardless of whether they have clear lids. The clear lid on my Rcom 20 is in effect double glazed and loses very little heat. The clear glass pane in the lid of my home made incubator does lose a lot of heat so I keep an insulating mat on it. If you do cover up a clear lid be careful not to obstruct any ventilation holes.
If you are considering a particular make and model there are sure to be plenty of people on the forum who have used the same model and who can give you an assessment of it.

I cover mine at nights with a towel so the loss of heat is not great I would do that with any of the cheaper incubators to be honest they can struggle in low overnight temperatures

Thank you both for the advice so far I hope other can give some advice too. The towel over it at night is a good idea that would also save power with is at an all time ridiculous high

Yes it does save power and saves eggs I think so if you go with cheaper styles try the towel on the very cold nights

you can cut and stick foam to the base part as well.

If you have the incubator in the house where its warm you shouldn't have to cover it I have never needed to and most od my eggs hatch
