Would it be ok to use the small zip ties on 3 day old ducklings legs? I need to mark them some how so I know which come from where and the rings I got are to big

Yes I have used them too for 1-6 week old chickens and they work great as Chookiemummy you need to keep an eye on the so they don't get to tight

I tried to place some on some day old ducklings recently in an attempt to identify them...the duckling was contually pecked at by the other ducklings...so I gave up and took it off...interesting to note this as I have noticed that ducklings seem to be much more inquisitive than chickens...I have used zip ties on chickens before without a problem....

In future I am going to try web punching with a toe punch....

I had similar experience and when I switched to white ties they seem to not bother as much it seems they are attracted by the colours especially red and yellow
