so I know it is to hot to incubate but surely theres a way around this as my rooster has *FINALLY* realized what he's good for...... My broody hen was left with to babies that I couldn't take away from her, she now has one egg with her and I don't know if she will sit on it or not, One of my hens laid the biggest egg they've laid so far and I really want to see if it will hatch or not. Is there any way I can incubate in this heat? eg; cold room? Will the clucky hen foster the egg?

If you have a clucky hen then no problems put all the eggs you want under her large or small and no the hot weather has little affect on hens sitting other than they usually hatch early. SOme of my best fowls were hatched on 40+ days

Would also suggest you exclude other chooks from accessing where she is sitting. Also suggest that you make sure she has a constant supply of water so she is not tempted to eat her eggs.

Good point on the exclusion. Interesting you mention water and egg eating as a connection I have only ever heard this once before from an old timer and I have always thought there is merit there in the connection but never proved it

Just something I've observed. And yes as I've had chooks for over 30 years I guess I might qualify as an 'old timer'!

Will her having a chick with her stop her sitting?

Unless you remove the chicken the hen will abandon the eggs. In this warm weather you could hand raise the chicken.

If I remove the chicken will she sit on the eggs? (11)

If I have the incubator in a cool room will it be ok?

How many days old can the eggs be to incubate?

normally when they have hatched chicks under them they swap to mother mode and don't go broody again till after they have layed again.
the coolest room in your house with no direct sunlight can be OK , but the heat also effects the fertility levels of the roosters.
Ideally up to 7 days can keep longer in ideal conditions but hatch rate drops. I have stored eggs in a coolroom for up to 14 days and got 50% hatch.
