Looking at the pictures of them I don't think its faulty as far as the lid goes it looks like thats how they are which is not the best seal. You could also try some tape around the lid that would stop the heat escaping

Nope, eBay special PP - plus I'm not sure whether it's the incubator or if it was the cockerel - though I'm leaning towards the cockerel. I'll be sure to try the weight next time.

How old where the eggs you put in the incubator? I found thats very important to the hatch rates of eggs posted or even collected at home

Egg age was max 4 days old - to same day. They were fresh - turned 2 - 3 times a day... Not quite sure what I did wrong... I'll blame the boy bird!

Hi Blak1 wave.gif

I'm thinking of purchasing an incubator.

Can you post a picture of your incubator? I'd be interested to see if yours is like the one I'm looking at on eBay.

I read that you said you turn the eggs 2-3 times a day. Does this mean its not automatic?

I'm looking at the different incubators & some say automatic, some say fully automatic & some say semi-automatic. I'm having a bit of trouble working out what the difference is. I assume fully auto means you don't need to do anything at all after putting the eggs in & turning the machine on. But what does auto & semi-auto mean?

Cheers
Chicka-Dee

Yes you can as they are just like quail chicks when they hatch just make sure they eat in the first 24/36 hours its important you may have to teach them to eat its not hard to do I can tell you if you get stuck

Does anyone have a picture/s of their JN12incubator set up?

I've put money in my PayPal account & want to get one off eBay but not still 100% sure about which one to get as there is so many on eBay. Some say semi-auto, some say fully auto and they all look the same but I can't seem to get the full gist of how they work.

Any light shed would be wonderful wave.gif

Cheers
