I wounder if Priscilla is going Broody

Today I have noticed and been checking a few times that Priscilla does not want to get off the eggs in the nest.

I have removed the real ones ( Priscilla is sitting on 6 dummy eggs)
Priscilla didn't get angry when I removed the real eggs didn't even puff up.

All she is doing is sitting there making some clucky and chirping sounds or just sitting in a dream.

But not quit behaving like dear Bertha did last summer.

Last summer when I did buy the dummy eggs ( to teach Bertha to lay In her nesting box rather then out in the open in the run)
I put the dummy eggs in Bertha's nesting box
A few weeks later she would not get off and when I approached she would get angry and puff up and make broody noises when I touched her..
As well as Bertha also stopped laying eggs and I knew via all the you tube videos she was for sure broody, she also gpt mad when ever any of the Isa browns approached her.

So there could be a couple of reason for why Priscilla is doing this....

1) She's got an eggs in the chute that she is finding hard to get out, hence the incessant chatting, clucking & sort of chirping, and the other is...
2) she's going clucky and she's thinking is this the spot where I'm gunna be for 3 weeks non-stop so she talking to herself about it (so cute), love it when they do this.

When Clara first went clucky she didn't make any noise either but then after 3-4 days, boy oh boy she let out one all mighty squawk , near frightened the bejingo's out of me :lol:

. I nearly peed my pants I laughed so much at how cranky she got, but she still let me pat her [smilie=a_rolling.gif]

So you need to find out if she's laid an egg today or not, or if she's got one in the chamber. If all is good on that front then it sounds like you've got a potential broody on your hands. And then you have to ask yourself if you want her to stay broody or not.

I put Priscilla to bed last night
This morning there was a very large egg in the nesting box and Priscilla was not keeping any warm.

It was also a double yolker
but why two days

How is Clara
