Another little one crowed for the first time thus morning. That's two boys out of a possible 3. Still hold out hope that the little white polish frizzle is a girl. Time will tell.

PP Saffy didn't sire any of these chicks. They were all from the frizzle lady. She seems to have quite a number of pens as we had a grey, buff and white selection of silkie, houdan and polish so I believe there to be a goo number of roos.

So right chick a dee, it's never easy to accept that initial crow.

Was Penny's baby one of the cock-a-doodle-dooers?

Hope that you can find homes for your boys and that the Polish Frizzle is a girl.

How is Pumpkin? When is her due date?

Yes. Penny's baby, Affectionaltely named "baby" is a beautiful buff frizzle silkie boy. The other crower is a buff bearded silkie.

My neighbour will choose a boy and I have another friend whose starting up a flock soon. She will happily take another boy. So keep your fingers crossed that the white one is a girl.

Pumpkins due date is Sunday/Monday as the egg rescue was late on a Sunday night.

wave.gif Yas,

Saffy is fine and dandy. He's been talking to the babies through the fence and I'm sure can't wait for two of his girls to return after mothering duties. Saffy was named after the golden threads of Saffron. His hackles are a beautiful orange yellow colour. He's a lovely boy with great nurturing and protective qualities.

Thank you for your kind wishes.

wave.gif Yas,

All of my mums are doing well. Two with their ever growing babies, now 10 weeks old and still happily playing mum, another mum to be with Petite Poulet's eggs are due to hatch Sunday/Monday and to top it off my little Wyandotte bantam is clucky too.

Mummies and baies are taking over my backyard [smilie=a_rolling.gif] . Talk about an obsession. laughter.gif

Hi Chicka dee,

We had one little baby hatch and it is a little silkie. It's currently been brooded by Penny our little black silkie. She's made for mothering. So we have Sage with 8 babies and Penny with her little chick. We are running out of space for chook pens and nurseries  we have Penny in my neighbours chook shed.

Such a cute photo with this post such a contrast of colour :-D
