Do you use an Incubator or let your Hens Hatch???

We use a Combination of both but do Favour Incubator.

We use 4 x bellsouth 100 tropical with Auto turner and have to date geat success with an average 73% Hatch rate.

Thanks

Hi PA,

I use hens when I get the chance but mostly incubator's, which are two Multiflo E1 144 eggs each, manual turn. Hatchability going OK this season will let you know percentages at end of season, last season was not a good one for me hatch rate was 65%, year before was really good at 82% one of the best I've had.

Cheers for now,
Snowball :D :D :D

I have used the incubator up until this season where I plan to foster under turkeys or chooks. I had too much trouble with chicks dying at hatch time in the incubator, the humidity was right but yet they still died. Chooks do a grteat job and stimulate the peachicks to eat better than in the brooder.

We let the chooks bring them up, only because we don't own a incubator.
