Hi everyone, do you prefer to use a Hen or Incubator to hatch your eggs?

Thanks

Hen, as I don't have an Incubator, would like to try one in the future, only a small one.

From my first season's experience I would say I prefer hens for low-stress hatching, as they take care of temperature & humidity - all you have to do is make sure they have a little food, water & shelter.

I have a small incubator (12 egg) and found it quite hard to regulate temperature & humidity, especially at hatching time. Maybe it takes practice. We did get two chicks out of the incubator.

The upside of an incubator, however, is that it won't get up and walk away from an unhatched egg which seems to have a perfectly viable full-term chick in it - take note, Lucy the Hen!!!!!! :x :-D

Hi everyone! I prefer my hens to hatch my eggs, for the pure pleasure of seeing a mother hen sit for so long, and then when the chicks hatch, she looks so proud and you can see her with all her little baby chicks following her around everwhere! :-D :-D :-D I'ts soooooo cute! :-D

Courta93! :-D :-D :-D
