There would have been but most do not survive at birth. I agree with 2_Drakes it would not be from any grass grazing its a dietary issue with supplement foods that very high protein

dont know abt the chick in the picture but my geese only get grass - no supplements
eggs have stopped for the year now so we will wait and see what happens next year

So you give them no food at all they only eat grass? is that enough to keep them healthy? Sorry but never had geese

geese are genetically predisposed to eat grass grass and more grass
they will follow you around and try to convince you to give them 'treats' of grain but I dont - they know that but keep trying anyway ;) :roll:
mine are cross breds and happy and healthy = they have a 50 acre paddock so there is more than enough grass - only in 2009 after the fires and heat waves destroyed so much were they hand fed and then only until the grass grew back

they arent called the lawn mowers of the bird world for nothing [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif] :-D
