anyone else experienced this one =
90% of all goose eggs laid so far this year are double yolkers
only 1 of 7 geese is laying singles

NEVER had this one happen before!

most odd [smilie=a_whyme.gif]

No never heard of that and 90% is extreme the most I would get in any one year would be 3 out of many dozens. They say Double-yolk eggs occur when ovulation occurs too rapidly are your geese young?

The other factor is diet but not in a negative way, its high and sudden protein increase that can cause large eggs with double yokes. In commercial hens its rare because their diet is consistent where as domestic backyard fowl have their base and sudden increases either by us feeding or free ranging and finding a purple patch. It should settle down in time gluck.gif

Is there any chance of a double yoker egg could hatch?

Very unlikely- there is usually not enough room for both chicks to grow properly and not enough nutrition for them both.
Some die before hatching, some shortly afterwards.

This can be the result if the egg hatches with one chick from a d/yoker

I think there has been a few of those in chickens but not so many in waterfowl. It would not be from grazing it would be from supp food with high protein so try cutting down on any supps you give them
