I found that interesting they never mention if that drake has ever bred a so called champion which is more important than his past show results.

I agree Weston.
This is one of the biggest problems with any animal "show" system.
Animals are selected only on their physical attributes- no importance is placed on their ability to breed, the quality of their offspring or even their temperament.

The English Shoe Budgie scene is full of Champion birds which have poor fertility and poor longevity- so what's the point of these birds????
Is this what we should aspire to?

Not in my backyard!

Another thing I found strange was that Graham Hicks wanted to retire from poultry breeding so was selling all his birds, but his friends bought the drake to give back to him. Does he have any females to join it to?, and does he want to keep breeding ducks. You would think if he wanted to keep it he would not have been selling that drake to start with. conf665

I fell off my stool when I read this considering I paid $25 for my drake and I though he was expensive at the time
