Thanks Nep...have been trying to lure her with food but she's very wary though I can see she wants to go get the tidbits I'm offering her. Should I just put some food on the ramps and leave her to it?? I've been standing/squatting down putting food on the ramps for her so far and trying to coax her in an encouraging voice. Just wondering if my presence is doing more harm than good??

Yep I would leave the food and go away so she feel no threats

duckie: Her ramp is a wooden one that sits at about a 30-35 degree angle flush against her blue clam shaped plastic pool (The one's Bunning's sell. She has one ramp on either side north/south facing and we've left one set of bricks for her to use on the west facing side) so she doesn't have to step/climb as such to get the food.

We think it's her hip or maybe the muscles in her hip/thigh and yes, we have looked around for a specialist avian vet which I've found, but as always, the leg has come good again, but I know from past experience that eventually the limp will come back which leads me to believe it is a muscular issue but of course, I'm no expert. Will be a vet job next time it plays up I think.

Nep: Thanks...I've been leaving the food for her and going away. She's happy to eat the food but is still no closer to stepping up on the ramp yet. Let's just say it's a work in progress!!

Thanks for the update.
What a girl eh?
Just one more question...is the ramp smooth or do you have strips of quad across to grip with her nails. Some ducks (not all) need that sort of thing.
Lets all hope that she gets her act together and uses the ramp.
You have done all that you can. It is up to her now. ;)

Hi Everyone....Finally, Cleo has decided to use her ramps to get in and out of her pool!!! woohoo4 Oh, and the wood is slightly rough duckie too btw..so not sanded baby bottom smooth or anything

We saw her using the ramp to get out of her pool late Sat afternoon, but as we still had the bricks there on the west side of the pool, we weren't sure if she used the ramp to get in. We took the bricks away on Sun and as we assumed she used the ramp to get into the pool when we saw her once again using it to get out!!! It took us until Mon to finally catch her using the ramp to get into the pool :-D

Anyhoo, we were hoping that now that the pennies dropped about using the ramp for her pool, she'd happily start using it to get in and out of her zinc fowl house to go to bed and get out again in the morning, but No!! She's either being stubborn about using it or her wee little brain just hasn't put two and two together yet!! Nevertheless, we are persevering and figure it's only a matter of time before she starts using it.

We're so happy to see her using the ramps as it really does make all the difference for her legs. She's walking around so much better now and the limp is virtually gone too, so hopefully she won't hurt herself again. Apologies for not updating you all sooner, had a few "technical issues" with the computer, but all good now :-D

Take care everyone and will let you know when Cleo hits the "Quinella" and starts using the ramp to get in and out of her bed. Can only hope it doesn't take weeks!!! :-D
