Any one got goslings yet. My girl has 6 goslings going on for 4 weeks old. Just starting to get pins. Here's the thing. She has three more eggs. Should I get rid of the goslings now or when she is sitting, or get rid of the eggs, which won't stop her from laying. This is just too much for me. She has never bred so early, neither has she laid more eggs while the goslings are still so young.
Any thoughts ?

I am not keeping these goslings. I would love to get rid of the last three adults but my hubby won't let me. I have one male that is about 18 yrs old. His name is Cheech. His long time friend Chong went with a bunch of bachelors. At one stage I had amost two dozen and one year I had three girls nest and between them 35 goslings. Cheech has to stay as he is mine. All the goslings take after their mum. All are grey and maybe some white, when they feather up I will know.

Update on my geese and goslings.
All my goslings have been sold. My goose (girly) is sitting again on 8 or 10 (not sure) eggs. Will have to tip her off and make sure. It is 5 days now. She started laying again when the goslings were 3 or 4 weeks old. I will be selling all the goslings. Dad is a good size white boy. Mum is grey and white. The last lot that I just sold were over half her size/height at 5 weeks. I will have to candle the eggs as she and another girl (now sold) had a double yolker each last breeding season.

First Grabby. Would be good to see your region in your profile. I am in SE Qld near Grantham. My charges are: 3 weeks $5 each and 6-8 weeks $9 each. Not hard to look after. I lock mine up at night for safety re foxes etc. Same feed as chook or ducks. Must have clean water to keep face and sinuses clean. A kids wader to swim in if no dam. Greens and or grass to graze on. Breed once (normally) a year, about August onwards.

Second Craig, Your region in your profile would be good to see as well. I give my ducks and geese a little bit of bread. My ducks will often put it in their water to soften it up. Too much is no good for any bird. It is like junk food. Greens and grass is best. Vegies, fruit, pasta, rice etc.

Third, My goose has hatched 4 goslings but still has seven eggs to hatch. The dad and ggrand dad are helping with the new goslings while she sits. I will update with the count at end of hatching. All will be sold.

There was twelve eggs under girlie. Only four have hatched. They have a home to go to very soon. I won't keep any goslings, ducklings or chickens as the numbers climb very quickly and I have only five acres.
