I think that is a cross but you just do not know them well enough to know what to look for sorry to break the bad news to you but perhaps you need to buy the wood duck books from the UK and do some reading up little fella. I know of a fella that has true mutations of woods so I will get some pictures to show you what they are supposed to look like

Sorry Woodducks but I have seen those birds in the flesh and have seen the parents and they are definitely pure Australian wood ducks, not hybrids.

The breeder who has them has managed to breed a few only this year.

If these birds do become established and more widely released then hopefully you will see them in the flesh & be convinced otherwise :)

Love that apricot wood duck I wonder if its possible to breed the same here I know the CWD is not too common here so not sure if it can be done or if we have the gene pool to do it
