Post subject:  One of our new pens

Hi All

My dad, husband, eldest son and I built this house and pen (most of the work was done by my dad). The design was taken from the book "Chicken Coops: 45 building plans for housing your stock" by Judy Pangman. We have covered the yard with left over shade cloth from the vegie garden as the poor chooks were cooking! Hubby has started building a new 'high rise' house in one of the other pens - will get photos of it too :-)

Thanks! It is our first 'flash' one as all the others have been of left over stuff and not really planned ;-) With the issues with mice and rats (shudder) this year we are looking at building better houses to help reduce the vermin. The thing I love about this pen is it is next to the path between our house and mum and dad's cottage so when I go to see them I get to talk to the chooks on the way [smilie=a_chuckle.gif] . I love how they come running up to the fence to see if I have any food!

I think so :-D And to think I grew up on the outskirts of Syndey [smilie=a_chuckle.gif] My life is very different now and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

My lovely hubby is getting me an incubator for Christmas too - can't wait [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif]

Thanks johs :-D We always have room for guests - there is a spare caravan ;)

I'll try and get a photo of the new chook house in progress - it is looking very flash! Hubby even asked me to pick out what prints I want to hang inside and he will make frames for them sidesplit.gif My dad asked if we were going to put chandaliers in thinkerg.gif

Our plans for chickenopolis seem to be getting bigger by the day a_bravo.gif My chickens always make me smile, no matter what type of day I have had :-D
