This may be of use to some. http://www.lrrd.cipav.org.co/lrrd17/4/pous17045.htm It has worked well for me for all ages and breeds as soon as they are able to eat whole grain. I feed whole wheat, meat meal, green feed and hard grit all ad lib. Layers also get shell grit and free range. If the system suits it can greatly reduce feed costs as whole grain is cheap and stores much better than processed feeds. Also the birds are not consuming unnecessary expensive protein, just eating what they actually need. |

Thats very interesting Doggo for posting I found this interesting Quote: The choice-fed turkeys consumed 10% less food, 44% less protein and the same amount of energy yet laid a similar number of eggs as those fed conventionally I wonder what that would equate to $$? |
