If I wire the ground to stop the foxes digging under would I be best to buy plastic wire to stop rust and would it be strong enough to stop the foxes?

Are you talking about plastic coated metal wire, the heavier the guage the better.

The wire on mine lasted just over 12 months before it had some rust holes but it was fairly cheap to replace so if it last 12-18 months then its worth the small cost
