Hi, MrsM,

We found a someone to fence our property through Exel Rural in Main Street, Lilydale. From memory which is failing sidesplit.gif he came from Macclesfield.

If you contact a supplier they may just sell you the run in kit form and saves you building it

Thanks for your help, MackayMan,

The hutch is just about standing, might try and contact the person who originally gave it to us and see if they still have the extension or, get creative with the staple gun :-D

Had no luck in tracking down the attached run so I got creative with the staple gun and here is my latest and last renovation to the hutch.

Removed the half of the upper level floor board and made a ramp from a piece of skirting and broken trellis.

The bottom floor has been secure with trellis and the bars with avian wire and shade cloth, hopefully it should be rodent proof.

Just might invest in Building Chicken Coops For Dummies and some power tools woohoo4

Hey, you're getting quite good at these Renovation Rescues. Well done! We'll have to start discussing power tools next. I wonder does that warrant it's own Sub-forum?

Well, I ordered Building Chickens Coops For Dummies from our local library and picked it up the other day. Excellent book with in depth descriptions of tools, hardware etc needed and the pros and cons of them and constructive advice in all planning, purchasing, construction and post construction advice. There are detailed coop plans for all levels of experience. The book however uses US terminology and US imperial measurements.

Being a mere female eunuch, helpless of the species I have been discouraged by my eldest brother and other kind gentlemen in investing in expensive power tools and coop construction...

Just enough incentive maybe to go and get inspired...
