Good for you. It's very satisfying to build something useful like that. Imperial measurements aren't that hard to work with or you could photocopy the plans and spend an hour converting to metric and annotating the plans. PM me if you need help with that.

Investing in power tools adds a lot of expense to your project, particularly if you only need them for this one project. If you are planning on doing a few jobs around home it becomes more worthwhile. Two thoughts, firstly, borrow the tools if you can rather than buying them, you'll save yourself hundreds of dollars. Second, if you plan on doing further projects and you do want to buy a few tools, for the home handyman, er woman, there is no need to buy top shelf. Most budget range tools simply have smaller bearings and bushes in them so they tend to wear out faster, but since you won't be using them everyday on construction sites they should last you quite a number of years for the occasional project.

Thanks for your support.

I highly recommend the book, it is very detailed, and can be ordered through the Intra Library Loan System if your local library does not have it.

Can I stack the hutches on top of each other with a hen in each?

Probably not a good idea th_Noooo.gif .

Broody hens and chicks need good hygiene, space and proper ventilation. Better having the hutches spaced comfortably side by side.

Can 2 broody girls share the 1 hutch in peace and harmony?

I think that it would depend on the size of the hutch and how big the girls are, how many eggs the girls are sitting on, how many hatch and most importantly if the girls are best friends?

Otherwise "NO" broody hens can be rather jealous and rather mean and nasty to each other in a confined space, throw their hormonal broodiness into the picture and "NO" I wouldn't really recommend it in a small hutch.
