Here is my original A frame Chook Tractor, it is empty now :( all the babies have left the nest.

It is is need of renovations to make it more weather proof and rodent proof before the Spring and my new girls come. There was a small tarp over the top to keep the rain out.

There is a ladder, a high roost, and a mezzanine level. There are also roosts about 15cm of ground level, and recycled drawers as nesting boxes.

It is at present sitting on the soil and I am going to sprinkle ag lime on it over the weekend, then add more top soil and then top with deep litter of sand, non toxic wood shavings, organic sugar cane and or straw. I have planted lavender and wormwood along side of it to help with parasite control.

Any suggestions on how to do these renovations are appreciated.

Thank you, kindly 52.gif

What's your goal PP. Do you want to make it bigger or just a spruce up?

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Jo,

I am thinking on a roof, I had a tarp over the top half to keep the rain out and rodent proof mesh attached to the bottom frame to keep the beasties out, also a couple of proper nesting boxes on top of the roosts were the desk drawer nesting boxes were. My uncle was going to help with the renovations, as he is very clever and has tools, problem is he had a heart attack last week :(

Ahhhh ww th_Noooo.gif

Shame we are worlds apart PP. I love that sort of stuff! And most of the time it doesn't turn out too bad....if you don't mind the 'Rustic Look' I have actually perfected the 'Rustic Look', may even take out a patent on the 'Rustic Look' and you know what? If you say it often enough (the 'Rustic Look' that is), the 'Rustic Look' can actually be quite ..... um, well Chic! (or Rustic, as I prefer) sidesplit.gif

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Cass, my dad's NQR but that's another story, mum's pretty handy with a staple gun though! I'll just have to put the ol' thinking beret on!
