Hopefully you will have success - have you considered boxing him inside yr house - maybe the laundry?? [so as not to annoy the neighbours] Most councils only 'bully' you if the noise is between 8pm and 7am [as workmen can make all the noise they want from 7am to 8pm - neumatic hammers and all]
you could try covering the box with a dark coloured towel as well to simulate the night longer - but if he has a penchant for crowing at 3 4 or 5am he may continue to do so regardless.

I only got this one today so i'm not really sure what hes going to do yet :-? bet i can have a good guess [smilie=a_makeitstop.gif]

I've left him in his cage tonight just to see what happens in the morning, i have a feeling theres no sleeping in for me  then i'll try the nest box thats been converted, if that doesn't work its definatley under the house in the garage for him ;)

 :-D notice how I totally ignored that post from agaff4 Kylie??
Now THAT is totally amazing for me = I'm usually the one to go off topic!!
Anyways - the garage - yep - that would work - if you make the nesting area/box out of double brick with small breather holes there definitely wont be any noise heard until you bring him out!! Thats what we did! Worked a treat - excluding that neighbour 2 doors down of course

Oh I love our 45 acres that we have now :-D

Hi Kylie, the box should work well, just make sure it's not too tall so he can't stretch his neck to crow, will help.

Thanks
P.A

Just a quick update ;)

My roo box worked a treat i was awake at 6am and hubby was up at 5, no noises comming from the backyard at all  i desided to let him out about 7.30 and wouldn't you know it he crowed for an hour

Hopefully the neighbours were wide awake by then and didn't notice his noise to much [smilie=a_disconcerted.gif]
