Make sure you don't make the same mistake as me and line the walls of the metal boxes with white foam the buggers eat it and all of it OMG

Now I know why Bertha's cardboard Box then fruit box was so popular last summer

Around the beginning of December last year I bought a three hole roll away nesting box from
bellsouth And the Isa's turned their beaks up at it.

Bertha being far too big to even get into these boxes first had a box then a fuirt box with just dried grass or mowed lawn clippings.

When I got another 6 Isa's they in fact cued up to her nesting box ( Bertha was going broody)as any one would at the supermarket.

Now I think about it No

also Not for my flock

for a number of reasons
because of no nesting material a few times eggs have gooten broken when the egg drops when its layed and breaks when it hits the plastic ( have found egg yok under the plastic a number of times.
With the rool out area some times instead of the eggs going where they should they some how get inbetween the metal box frame and the plastic nesting frame.

Or if the eggs do roll out they have become at risk of breaking ehen they hit the end of the roll out

As well as my girls have behaved unhappy without nesting material ,
I have put nesting material ( clean slasher clippings in the roll out part as well as in between the frame and nesting boxes as well as behind the nesting boxes here the girls can feather their own nests.
The girls feather them well and block the roll out part and make the nesting boxes soft.

As well as when I had it frits assembled I did think they were a bit on the small side.

When I gave my girls a choice of the metal boxes and one of the fruit boxes I have given them
The plastic fruit box with slasher clippings won every time.

Good post Y.barnesy and I agree with you. Those are good for commercial setups not a backyard flock
