I am looking at some new drinkers and found these
Image

From dine a chook

Do they work of for large and bantam chooks

Also can they work under mains pressure instead of a drum?

Maybe you could contact Dine-a-Chook and ask?

direct mains pressure no drum yes with mains if you have a float in the drum
also if not connected to mains make sure there is always water in the drum - never let it run dry as the birds will peck and peck away trying to get the water to come out and can dislodge the cup = I taped (duct tape) the one that a larger bird dislodged this way = stays in place now

they are excellent for not spilling water everywhere as the birds cant stick their heads right down in the water = excellent

Bellsouth in Narre Warren VIC sells them via mail order

Thank you soozorps very helpful, the drum is better for me as I have no mains water and we don't want it coming off the tank incase something goes wrong and it drains the tank

I am very grateful for that thank you. We had a horse trough hose come off while we where away and it drained the tanks empty so we are painfully aware now as it cost $350 to fill just 1 tank

I have bought some of these to start using......now I am having trouble getting access to the black 20l drums to use for the water storage (my local tip is closing and the bigger town tips won't collect them for recycling use) anyone got any ideas?

You can buy them at camping stores for about $13 or I found some on the internet http://www.mooreequipment.com.au/produc ... N=60432398 or on gumtree http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-other-stuff ... m/k0c18319
